Caithness Community Have A ‘Whale Of A Time' At North Coast Visitor Centre

High Life Highland's Countryside Ranger's gave members of the public an exciting opportunity to ‘dive in’ to the world of marine wildlife at the North Coast Visitor Centre recently.
The ‘Whale and Dolphin Watching’ presentation took place on Wednesday 15th November at 11am, and was well attended by the local Caithness community.
This informative and visually engaging session explored the wonders of sea watching in the far North of Scotland.
During this digital presentation, Paul Castle, High Life Highland’s Countryside Ranger for North Sutherland and North Caithness, guided attendees through the best techniques and locations for observing these magnificent creatures, including valuable insights into the diverse species of whales and dolphins that grace the Highland shores.
Most interestingly, the unique opportunity to examine some of the cetacean skulls that have been discovered over the years by different members of the Countryside Rangers team was also made possible at the event.
Paul shared: "As this presentation was designed to be an inclusive and family-friendly experience, I was happy to see a good turnout from a range of different demographics.
"People were highly engaged in the different facts, insights, and objects shared, which made it a truly remarkable day of collectively celebrating the world of whales, dolphins, and the wider marine life of Caithness.
“To everybody who took the time to attend on the day: your participation and support has made a meaningful contribution to the preservation of our precious Highland wildlife and heritage.
“We are committed to making valuable educational opportunities, such as this ‘Whale and Dolphin Watching’ presentation, accessible to all. However, we kindly ask for your support through donations, which help us continue to protect and preserve the natural beauty of the Highlands."
