Womens State Pension Fight With WASPI - You Can Join

28th August 2016

Following successful meetings in Wick and Thurso of the newly formed Caithness WASPI group, two more meetings have been planned for Tuesday 30th August 2016 at 6.30 pm in the Pentland Hotel, Thurso and Wednesday 31st August 2016 at 6.30 pm in the Norseman Hotel, Wick.

Both meetings will focus on the national WASPI Day of Action on Friday 16th September 2016 with a view to running some awareness raising events throughout the County.

Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) is a national campaign group that fights the injustice done to women born in the 1950s (on or after 6 April 1951) regarding the changes to their state pension age

A recently formed Caithness WASPI group has been set up by Aileen Shanks (Thurso) and Lorna Simpson (Wick). They are holding meetings in Wick and Thurso to raise awareness of the issue and would like to encourage women born in the 1950s to come along and hear what has been happening with the national WASPI campaign.
