Special Events

A Northerly Land by George Gunn - book launch
Tuesday 3rd December
7.30pm
Admission Free

‘A Northerly Land’ is a new volume by Caithness poet, George Gunn. Playwright as well as poet, George Gunn’s work is lyrical and politically switched on, a distinct voice that speaks for the Highlands and his native Caithness, but refuses to be contained by geography. People are George Gunn’s concern, whether in Caithness or Crete, and love the driving force behind his pen. Caithness itself shimmers in these poems, with imagery of land, light and sea.

This book emerged from a recent creative collaboration with musician Iain Copeland. In January, George and Iain will perform some of these poems set to new music, live at the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow.

Come and see our ‘Northerly Land’ through George Gunn’s creative eye.

We’re delighted to welcome Gordon Gunn to this event adding his own distinct musical genius to the evening.

Copies of ‘A Northerly Land’ will be on sale, and George will be happy to sign them on the night.
